Benefits for United States Employees

Meggitt offers a variety of benefits to help you protect your health, your family, and your way of life.  Your benefits are a valuable part of your total compensation package and Meggitt offers several choices from which to choose.  Coverage begins on the first day of the month following employment.  The following is a quick summary that highlights key features of your benefits plan.  Please refer to your plan document for full details.

Aetna health insurnace
Meggitt offers eligible employees two medical options from which to choose.  Everyone will be able to choose the preferred provider organization (PPO) option.  Depending on your geographical area, your second medical choice will be either the exclusive provider organization (EPO) plan or a health maintenance organization (HMO) option.

Delta Dental of California
Meggitt offers two dental plans through Delta Dental of California: PPO high option plan and PPO low option plan.  Plans differ based on coverage, your contributions and out-of-pocket dental care expenses.

Vision service plan (VSP)
Meggitt includes vision coverage with your medical plan coverage.  Vision coverage is offered through VSP, the nation's largest provider of eye care coverage.

Retirement savings  plan (401k)
Generous company matching and year-end contributions include basic contribution, supplemental contribution, and profit sharing contribution based on company performance.

Company provided life insurance
The company pays the full cost of basic life insurance coverage.  Coverage is insured by Unum.  Benefit is two times annual base earnings, up to a maximum benefit of $500,000.

Company provided accidental death and dismemberment
(AD&D) insurance

The company pays the full cost basic AD&D insurance coverage.  Coverage is insured by Unum.  Benefit is two times your annual base earnings, up to a maximum benefit of $500,000.

Voluntary life insurance
You may purchase additional life coverage up to six times your annual base earnings, up to a maximum coverage of $1,000,000.

Voluntary AD&D insurance
You may purchase additional AD&D coverage in $10,000 increments up to $500,000.

Dependent voluntary life insurance
You may purchase life insurance for your spouse/domestic partner and dependent children.

Dependent voluntary AD&D insurance
You may purchase AD&D insurances for your spouse/domestic partner and dependent children.

Company provided business travel accident insurance
For employees traveling on company business, the company provides business travel accident insurance.  This plan will pay your beneficiary four times your annual base earnings to a maximum benefit of $1 million.

Voluntary short-term disability (STD) insurance
60% of weekly earnings for 6 months.

Company provided long-term disability (LTD) insurance
60% of monthly earnings after 180 days of disability.

Flexible spending accounts
A maximum annual contribution of $5,000 for health care reimbursement account and dependent child care reimbursement account.

Long-term care (LTC) insurance
Long-term care insurance is available to all eligible employees and to family members who are between the ages of 18 and 80.

Universal life insurance
This insurance offers permanent life insurance protection for you and your family.  The amount of coverage that you purchase is flexible.

Group legal services
This plan provides access to a network of professional attorneys, financial counselors and a host of related legal services.

Home/auto insurance
Liberty Mutual will offer discounted rates to Meggitt employees for home, auto and personal property insurance.

Company provided employee assistance programs (EAP)
Meggitt provides two EAPs for all employees and members of their household at no cost.  One program is through NEAS and the other is provided through Unum.  You may contact either or both.
